Abstract
With just three decades of existence, Timorese Nationalism stands out among nationalist movements. It has achieved a surprising spread in a short time, due not only to its wide coverage but also to its intensity, and despite its small demographic and territorial base, for many years it has posed a serious problem for a country of two hundred million inhabitants. This study focuses on the first two decades of this nationalist movement, which witnessed its emergence and consolidation.
