Abstract
Based on the influence that some the fundamental Christian texts have had on women's education and awareness through history, the article focuses on the study of religious education for young women proposed by the Spanish scholar, Josefa Amar y Borbón, in her Treatise on the physical and moral education for women, published in Madrid in 1790.
