Resumo

Spanish monarchs considered themselves as protectors of the national Church from the Council of Trent. This feeling grew with the advent of the Bourbonic dynasty, in direct connection with the summit of the postures that defended the royal prerogatives. In the present article one of the principal demonstrations of that labor of protection is analyzed: the interventions of Felipe V, Fernando VI and Carlos III in the relatives cases to the royal patronage, the principal of the royalties of the Spanish crown.
