Abstract
Livestock trails constitute an extensive and valuable natural and cultural heritage, providing a service to livestock tra&c and contributing to the preservation of wild %ora and fauna. Although their original use is in progressive disappearance, they must be considered as authentic ecological corridors that favour the contact between man and nature. #e Sector Vía Pecuaria Cañada Real de Torreagüera (Murcia) runs from the cemetery of La Alberca to the University Campus of La Salud in El Palmar, crosses an urban section corresponding to the urbanisation known as Montevida and a natural space of great ecological and landscape value (the natural park of El ValleCarrascoy) and connects with the Route of the Trenches, which will allow the archaeological remains executed during the Spanish Civil War to be put to good use.
