Abstract

The research project «The Islamic hîṣn of the Castellar d’Alcoi» aims to document one of the reference sites, and above all controversial of Andalusian archaeology in the province of Alicante. The research has been promoted by the Alcoy City Council and supported by the Municipal Archaeological Museum Camilo Visedo of Alcoy. In this article, we present the archaeological interventions carried out from 2016 to 2018, which have confirmed an ex novo fortified height village from the second half of the 10th century and the beginning of the 11th century
