Resumen
The main objective of my doctoral dissertation is to analyse diachronically and synchronously the scientific output in the field of audiovisual translation, using factors such as visibility, productivity, citations and co-citations, impact, research groups, etc. These analyses are scarce in Translation Studies research. Such factors influence authors’ productivity and reputation and depict the state-of-the-art of research and its protagonists. The methodology is based on quantitative analyses (bibliometric and webmetric techniques) and on an interpretation of the statistics. The main data source is the database BITRA (Bibliography of Interpreting and Translation). As for the expected results, I will try to identify the key factors in output and impact, the most influential authors, journals and institutions, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. I intend to obtain an empirical and statistical picture of the discipline and proposals for (re)designing researchers’ curricula and (re)modelling assessment and accreditation processes.
