Abstract
This paper aims to point out the importance of research about the development of historical materialism in the period of crisis of modernity. First of all it is explained its importance and the many contributions it would make to our knowledge. Then we expose the methodological and theoretical approaches that a work of this kind should develop in order to bring us to a proper result. Finally, we reflect on the implications that a study like this could have outside the scientific world.
