Resumen
This essay compares La vida de la verge Maria (Valencia, 1494, Nicolau Spindeler) by Miquel Peres to La vida y excelencias de la sacratíssima virgen María nuestra señora (Valladolid, 1546, En casa de Francisco Fernández de Córdova) by Francisco de Trasmiera. Both compositions belong to the vitae Mariae genre and although they obey to different aesthetic tastes, it is possible to observe important structural parallelisms and thematic similarities that strongly indicate a relation of dependency between them. From comparative analysis, we will show the degree of affiliation established between the two compositions and we’ll therefore reveal the significant dissemination and impact of the work by Miquel Peres in the Castilian tradition.
