Abstract
During the last decade the development and popularization of computers and the combination oftechnology, art and science have opened a vast field of work on digital technology. Institutions such asthe MIT Media Laboratory, the ZKM, the Institute for the Unstable Media, the Medialab Prado,demonstrations and events such as Ars Electronica and SonarMática projects like SENSEable CityLaboratory, international awards including Vida 1.0 on Fundación Telefónica about art and artificiallife, are just a small sample of the massive presence of digital technology in the most innovativeforums of contemporary culture. This overview is the origin of {LAC}: Computation and Architectural Research Lab. The {LAC} on onehand claims to be a place of experimentation and architectural research. On the other hand anobservatory of all the innovations and contributions in the digital domain, a documentation center anda platform for computer-related participation and the incorporation of digital tools and programming onarchitecture
