When discussing the topical man/environment argument, all aspects of natural hazards should be considered. Urban sprawl, which increased during the transition from the 20th to the 21st century, has revealed many significant territorial weaknesses, especially an increase in exposure and vulnerability. Geography, as a land science, provides analysis and reflection about mans behaviour towards the land. Thus the geographical study of natural hazards, is gaining importance in geographical knowledge application.
