Abstract

London deserves the title of 'capital of the sharing economy' since 2015. Thanks to the amendment of two sections of the Greater London Council" ("General Powers) Act", 1973, "renting private homes for tourist purposes is openly allowed. Londoners just have to meet two simple administrative requirements in order to benefit from renting their home through p2p platforms and there is no need to apply for any administrative authorisation. This permissive regulation differs from the Spanish regulatory approach to this type of accommodation, meticulous and complex due to the variety given by the 17 regional regulations actually existing in Spain
