Resumen

The aim of this research project is to find out students’ Spanish and French cultural competence and to assess their ability to identify phraseological units (PU) included in scenes from the series La casa de papel. We have compiled a corpus composed of four fragments selected from several chapters that contain different PUs, which we have chosen for their phraseological and cultural richness. We have presented the fragments to different students of Audiovisual Translation and General Translation, belonging to the degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Alicante, by means of translation practices in different work sessions. These practices are part of the FRASYTRAM (Phraseology and Multilingual Translation) research project. First of all, we have observed the differences between the translations carried out with or without limitations. Then, we checked the acquisition of their translatological competence in phraseology and analysed their translations. Since this is a study involving a wide range of students, the results obtained are uneven. With this work, we aim to contribute to improving the treatment of the difficulties in identifying and translating the PUs that students of the Degree in Translation and Interpreting face on a daily basis, in addition to familiarising them with this discipline and with applications that can be used as a tool in this field.
