Résumé

The Chicano writer Sandra Cisneros echoes the discourses of miscegenation with the intention of claiming their origin while highlighting the situation that Chicano women suffer at present within that culture and own idiosyncrasy . She especially focuses on the situation of Mexican and Mexican-American women who find the necessary courage to overcome the poor conditions in which they live. What it is relevant is the fact that never before had anyone focused on this type of character. So, Cisneros is determined to present them to the American public. And precisely therein lays the purpose of this article. We intend to investigate not only the figure of the novelist Sandra Cisneros, but her exploration of borders between the two cultures in American literature, struggling to find her own space in the fiction of her host country.
