Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine if there were epidemiological differences in hallux valgus deformity with and without metatarsalgia. An observational, analytical, longitudinal, prospective cohort study of patients attended in our consultation between January 2015 and December 2016 was performed. Seventy-seven patients were included in the study. The mean age of the patients was 56.1 years, with 81.8% of women. We did not find epidemiological differences in patients with hallux valgus deformity with and without metatarsalgia. The presence of metatarsalgia was associated with lesser toe deformities, and moderate or severe radiological grade of hallux valgus.
