Abstract

This paper develops a real time implementation of a mathematical model that describes the glucose – insulin dynamics of a patient with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1D). In addition, the intake of fats and proteins is contemplated. The model also considers the infusion of exogenous insulin and the variation of insulin sensitivity through the day. Likewise, the engagement of the model to a remote monitoring tool is shown. The real time implementation allows to demonstrate that from engineering is possible to tribute to the T1D insulin treatments.
