Resumen

Este artículo analiza el concepto de destino turístico inteligente (DTI), examinando su relación con la sostenibilidad. En este nivel de los destinos turísticos, este trabajo indica las principales dimensiones que pueden ayudar a mejorar su competitividad (gobernanza, innovación, tecnología, accesibilidad y sostenibilidad). Nuestro artículo se centra principalmente en la sostenibilidad,indicando acciones e indicadores que se pueden utilizar en las diferentes dimensiones de lasostenibilidad (económica, ambiental y social) y que pueden ayudar a promover solucionessostenibles en el sector turístico desde ese nivel de localización de los destinos turísticos. Elartículo también examina la relación recíproca entre DTI y empresas turísticas con relacióna la importancia de la gobernanza, la innovación, la tecnología y la accesibilidad para lasempresas, enfatizando el papel de la sostenibilidad en destinos y empresas turísticas. Algunasrecomendaciones metodológicas para estudios futuros son también indicadas.
