Abstract

Distributed ledger technology is not being adopted extensively in the public sector sphere. Nevertheless, public procurement outstands due to its pioneering role in the use of said technology for the registry and traceability of offers, automatization of decisions and digital identity management of tenderers and contractors. This paper presents the main initiatives developed, up to date, in Spain and offers a prospective view of other situations in which this technology could be implemented.
