Resumen

Coincidiendo con el inicio de la crisis económica en 2007, se observa en todas las economías desarrolladas un proceso de reshoring, consistente en el retorno al país de parte o del total de actividades previamente deslocalizadas en el extranjero. Este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar por primera vez si esta estrategia ha afectado al sector turístico. Los resultados muestran que entre 2007 y 2010 se produjo un importante proceso de reshoring en todos los subsectores turísticos, mientras que en 2015 los niveles de offshoring se recuperaron levemente, aunque sin compensar el fuerte descenso anterior. Esta estrategia de reshoring en turismo se lleva a cabo básicamente mediante la sustitución de proveedores extranjeros por proveedores nacionales
