Asociaciones entre el liderazgo transformador y las prácticas de gestión de la calidad en hoteles españoles

Resumen

Este trabajo analiza las asociaciones entre el liderazgo transformador y las prácticas de la gestión de la calidad (medidas a través de los facilitadores del modelo de la Fundación Europea para la Gestión de la Calidad -European Foundation for Quality Management-). El estudio analiza 102 hoteles de 5 estrellas y 5 estrellas gran lujo en España. En primer lugar, se realiza un análisis de conglomerado con las variables de liderazgo transformador para analizar las diferencias significativas entre los grupos creados con relación al desarrollo de las prácticas de la gestión de la calidad. En segundo lugar, se realiza otro análisis de conglomerado con las prácticas de la gestión de la calidad y se analizan las diferencias significativas entre los grupos creados con relación al liderazgo transformador. Los resultados muestran que los hoteles que desarrollan en mayor medida las dimensiones del liderazgo transformador son hoteles que a su vez tienen un mayor desarrollo de las prácticas de la gestión de la calidad. De igual forma, los hoteles que tienen un nivel más avanzado de las prácticas de la gestión de la calidad tienen a su vez mayores niveles de liderazgo transformador. El trabajo complementa los estudios sobre el liderazgo transformador y la gestión de la calidad al incluir en un mismo estudio la asociación de doble sentido entre ambas variables.
