Resumen

In order to detect, guide and stimulate the exceptional mathematical talent of young students (usually between 11 and 15 years old), the EsTalMat sessions -a project of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences- are nurtured of challenging and engaging math problems. This contribution shows a selection of such problems, linked to the pigeonhole principle, inequalities, sequences, functional equations, lattice geometry, classical plane geometry, Hindu mental calculation and divisibility, whose resolution requires a certain skill, ingenuity and mathematical expertise.
