Résumé

Recently, national surveys of working conditions and health have gained popularity. The aim of the workshop described in this article was to offer recommendations to improve the quality and efficiency of these surveys. Based on a review of surveys conducted in Spain, a group of experts arrived at common criteria. Important recommendations induded that the universe of worker sample include all employees in the relevant context, with each worker having a known probability of being se!ected for inclusion in the sample. On the other hand, the sampling frame of enterprises should be based on social security numbers, and companies should be stratified by size and economic activity. Accomplishing these recommendations could help make comparisons between surveys easier, both geographically as well as temporally.
