Abstract

Buccal microwear research of postcanine dentition from non-human primates, fossil hominids and known dietary human groups have shown differences related to the degree of abrasiveness of their diet. Application analyses from prehistoric populations can offered microwear patterns that shown different subsistence economies within similar cultural-chronological áreas. On the other hand these results can be contrasted with paleopathological and archaeological data. This study shows the first results from a research project regarding to non-occlusal dental microwear of bioarchaeological groups from Prehistory, Protohistory and History epochs centre on Valencia Community.
