Resumen

The implementation of rural development programs completed 25 years of the LEADER approach. Tourism has represented one of the main drivers of rural problems in Castilla-La Mancha. One of the roles played by the rural development programs has been to stimulate the ‘pull’ factors in tourism. The aim of this paper is to examine tourism projects developed since the 90s in Castilla-La Mancha through the implementation of EU rural development policies. This analysis has conducted to the categorization of more than 3,000 tourism projects in four main blocs: a) accommodation, b) tourism product, c) promotion and marketing and d) planning.
