Resumen

The study of cattle farming has received little attention from Spanish geographers, despite its socioeconomic importance and the amount of land used. When analysed, it is almost always considered as a subsidiary aspect of agriculture or is mentioned simply as part of a wider consideration of the landscape. Some dedicated studies have appeared in recent decades, though always insufficient, considering cattle farming from an industrialised perspective. This new way of studying cattle farming, however, should consider the interrelated nature of the production, transformation and distribution of products more thoroughly than it has to date. The internet provides abundant and varied resources for a rigorous geographical analysis of cattle farming, in a wide-reaching and integrated way.
