The Roman site of La Rana is placed in the Sant Bertomeu valley (Gata de Gorgos, Alicante). It was discovered more than three decades ago from surface materials that allowed its identification as a pottery kiln from the Early Empire period. Since the end of 2017, a research project has been developed to characterise its productive structures and ceramic productions, as well as its chrono-stratigraphic sequence. The results of the first excavation campaign, carried out in 2018, are presented.
