Resumo

The colonia of Ilici (Elche, Alicante) is one of the most outstanding urban centers of Roman times in the south-east of the Iberian peninsula. It is endowed with two thermal complexes, where the one known as Termas Orientales stands out particularly for its monumentality, for the complexity of its facilities and for the prolonged use of its building over time. Discovered by chance in 1963, it was not systematically excavated until the end of the last century. The ASTERO project resumed its archaeological excavation in 2017, revealing in its first two campaigns suggestive news about the life and evolution of this building.
