Abstract

The growth of IT infrastructure, causes many processes to improve by introducing information systems, allowing to generate better results with effectiveness and supporting organizational goals. Public university education sector can also benefit of the proper use of IT, helping to improve both the processes administrative as the academic. Technologies can contribute to improving the quality of teaching-learning processes, aligning the objectives pursued by universities, the training of professionals with quality and standards validated by institutions that monitor compliance with standards for the purpose of academic excellence. Is required therefore a strategy global, comprehensive, consensual and shared by all the Community University in relation to the use of the IT. However, the lack of a framework that makes possible the use of IT and that also generates value through good management and corporate governance of IT, as well as the little awareness in the high address by not have to them IT as an Allied strategic, It has caused that these not have failed to be exploited in all its fullness. Proposes a line basis for a framework of IT corporate governance of simple, progressive, and scalable that serve as a reference and adapted to the Ecuadorian public University reality.
