Resumo

Innovations appearing within the framework of communication technologies and artificial intelligence are giving rise to a new generation of computer-assisted translation systems, called by do Carmo et al.(2016:149) “knowledge-assisted translation”. This paper aims to find out to what extent the professional translator’s tasks are currently assisted by knowledge. To this end, after ex-plaining the concept of the translator's workstation, the processes of the translation project are detailed, specifying their tasks within a context of computer-assisted translation and, where appropriate, knowledge-assisted. We conclude with the central tasks which will be optimized by intelligent technologies and which will be able to create a more knowledge-as-sisted workflow
