Resumen
The onset of listric faulting during the Early Juraste led to the breaking of the lower Hassle carbonate platform and create new basins on top of the hanging walls. In the Sierra de Crevillente two discontinuities can be identified. The lower one (in the Upper Sinemurian) was developed after the onset of the listric faulting. The upper one (in the Early-Late Pliensbachian limit) marks the end of the basins infilling and the sealing of the faults. The carbonate rocks below the firstdiscontinuity, corresponding to lower liassic shallow marine platform deposits, are included in the Gavilán Group. All the limestones and marls deposited above that first discontinuity and previously to the next episode of listric faulting (during the transit Early-Middle Jurassic), are included in the Zegrf Group.
