Résumé
The stratigraphy and nanofossil assemblages of the southern border of the Crevillente Sierra, Els Pontets section, is studied. The Miocene succession can be divided in several lithologic units: El Castellä limestones (early-middle Serravallian), Les Moreres Marls Em (middle-late Serravallian), Raya del Búho Conglomerates and Calcarenites Em (Serravallian ?- early Tortonian), Galerfa de los Suizos marls (middle-late Tortonian), and the Ventanas limestones (latest Tortonian). The lower marly interval, Les Moreres Marls Fm, can be correlated with the lower "tap marls"; the upper interval, Calería de los Suizos marls, with the upper "tap marls".
