Resum
The inspection visits on the Valencian municipalities reached a great diffusion in the High Modern Age, as a mechanism of control over the management developed by the local authorities. Its execution was used to be translated into a wide variety of sanctions and a reform of municipal statutes. This paper tries to verify to what extent the composition of the municipal oligarchies was also affected. After making a briefreview through a wide and varied casuistry, it is verified that the most important renovations took place there where the visit was the instrument used to implement the election procedure of the insaculation, specially in the municipalities of the Order of Montesa from its incorporation to the Crown.
