Abstract

This paper shows the optimization of a nematic liquid crystal display (TN-LCD) for application to holographic data storage. Specifically, the LCD is optimized for record the holograms with two types of modulations: binary intensity modulation and hybrid ternary modulation (HTM). Moreover, data pages have also stored holographically using these two modulations and the Bit Error Rate (BER) of the images has been calculated. Finally, based on the results, both modulations are compared to see which is most appropriate modulation to be used for holographic data storage.
