Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe how citizens have contributed to the development of a Territorial Employment Assessment (TED) promoted by the Generalitat Valenciana, prior to the design of future public policies for the promotion of employment, in three municipalities of Alicante. It was achieved through an Action Research-Participation (IAP). Participatory workshops and focus groups were held that served to make the public aware of the existence of the project and its purposes, as well as provide their experience, opinion and propose possible solutions to the problem of employment in these municipalities. It can be concluded that citizens are able to contribute their perspective on a problem that concerns them and how they can contribute to the design of policies aimed at promoting employability.
