Abstract

In Spain, the longest-running television series, Hospital Central, is set in the healthcare sector. This sector is particularly relevant to the group of older people. This study performed a content analysis of four seasons (two initial and two final) in this series that spent ten years in the Spanish prime-time television. The results show the limited presence of the elderly, the preference for giving visibility to younger adult characters, or notable gender differences, role or role, among others.
