Resum

During the winter of 1987-88, herbage production of weedy cereal fallows in Campo de Caravaca (N.W. of Murcia, Spain) was measured to evalúate its fodder contribution to extensive livestock. Four localities were selected where experimental plots were fenced to exelude grazing from them; in each plot, half of the surface was cutted every two weeks (simulating overgrazing) and the other half at the end of winter. In the two weeks subplots, herbage production ranged from 644 to 1042 kg of dry matter per ha. and in the other, from 864 to 4476 kg D.M./ha. At the end of the experiment, botanical inventories and coberture of each specie was measured in the second sub-plots.
