Abstract
The conflict between memory and oblivion is the foundation on which societies and cities are built. Where one goes forwards the other goes backwards and vice versa. This article analyzes the dispute between memory and oblivion of the Monument to the Martyrs of Freedom, which was destroyed by Franco’s authorities.
