Abstract

This article is both a brief description and a diachronic analysis of three successive models of the university’s inclusion into the city. The study makes reference to the universities in Madrid, Valencia, and Alicante, cities whose origins date back to different times and arose from diverse political regimes. In these three cases emphasis is placed on the location of the respective schools of architecture and the relevant implications. The purpose is to attempt to refer to the each university’s three dimensions: the building, the immediate surroundings, and the city to which it belongs.
