"Teucrium ronnigeri" Sennen (Lamiaceae) y sus variaciones

Abstract

Data are reported on Teucrium ronnigeri Sennen, a name having priority for the Iberolevantine endemism usually referred as T. aureum subsp. latifolium or T. homotrichum. Morphological variability of this taxon along its distribution area is discussed, mostly concerning the general colour, width of upper leaves, corolla colour, and calyx and inflorescence size. Despite of the wide variation observed, populations from the southern part of Alicante province and neighbouring areas of Murcia are accepted to constitute a taxonomic entity to which the new combination T. ronnigeri subsp. lagunae is proposed. It differs mainly from the typical T. ronnigeri subsp. ronnigeri by characteristics of calyx indumenta. Nomenclatural aspects are discussed for both taxa, and a lectotype is selected for the former. Other data on ecology, bioclimatology and biogeography are also offered for each one.
