Abstract
The Iberolevantine plant communities of Cheilanthes hispanica recently discovered in Sierra de Espadan (Castellón province, East of Spain) are phytosociologically characterized. They are classed in a proposed new syntaxon, Centaureo paui-Cheilanthetum hispanicae Mateo & M. B. Crespo, ass. nova. Its syntaxonomic position appears to be related to Cheilanthion hispanicae, an alliance with Iberoatlantic optimum now reaching in a disjointed way the Iberolevantine silicic mountains by means of this new association.
