Abstract
In this paper we analyze the results of a proper competency management in the field of organizational knowledge management. As well known,knowledge management is essential to obtain sustained competitive advantages, in order to survive into a turbulent environment. Hence, human resources are the most valuable asset to achieve the firm goals. Firstly, we briefly review the existing literature on competency and knowledge management. Afterwards, we illustrate the upcoming synergies from these concepts and some ideas about structural influence and organizational culture in the knowledge management. Finally, conclusions are provided.
