Abstract
The research on the past climates account, for last two centuries, with the daily written press like information source of undoubted value. The news of written press contributes quantitative and qualitative information in the statement of extraordinary range atmospheric episodes, which must surrender to a labor of checking and filter to be able to grant validity as research data. The analysis of some episodes happened in Alicante lands from the ends of the XIXth century up to the current uses as example to verify the kindness of this complementary source in studies of contemporary climatology.
