Abstract

Drought's perceptions have changed in spanish society in relation with economic progress and life and consum habits modification during the last fifty years. The dry sequence 1966-67, with important economic effects in south-east Spain marks the change between traditional adjust to its consideration how a catastrophic episode; perception consolidated during 1978-84 and 1992-96 sequences. Excessive increase of demands and an inefficient planification of water resources are in the origen of this kind of understand this natural event.
