Resumo
Both within the point of view of the comprehension of messages and the production of texts in a foreign language, the presence of micro- and macromarkers as devices organizing ideas and ensuring coherence and coiiesion is essential. Our paper is a proposal to use such linguistic elements in tiie EFL classroom, through a number of progressive stages which, in tile first place, will stress tiie need for markers and make learners aware of their role, and then will reinforce their usage until they are naturally incorporated into the learner's active repertoire.
