Résumé

The objective of this study is to research on the origins and contents of students to be secondary school teachers' images on maths, maths' teaching/learning, and its influence in the way these students interpret school mathematical tasks. The participants were five universitary graduates who were registered for a Pedagogical Adaptation Course (maths' area). A series of images that we describe as studies of cases arose from our analysis of semistructural clinical interviews, designed in a way to allow us doing a description of each student's images on maths and maths' teaching/learning. The comparison between each case's data has allowed us to observe the different functions of teaching and learning images, and has added ideas on student's cognitive referents to interpret the information given in training syllabi.
