Abstract
The Region of Murcia has diverse tourism adapted to the resources in its territory. In particular, the city of Murcia has promoted cultural tourism as a strategy to publicize the distinctiveness of its urban development. As a result of these initiatives, a series of new museums have been promote over the last few decades whose purpose is to make the historical context of the founding and evolution of the city known, as well as its patrimonial wealth. These museum infrastructures have been developed along with certain complementary public features that contribute to reinforce, even more, the aforementioned tourist projection of the capital. The investigation proposes a pedagogical route that combines an itinerary of visits to the most representative museums, the observation of certain urban spaces distinctive of city life and important unique buildings that have left their structural framework in the streets. The purpose of this route is eminently educational as it aims to offer a vision of the evolutionary process from the founding of Islamic Murcia to today, interlacing the discourse with the material and immaterial culture that unites the enclave.
