Resumen

The control of the shrine of San Cayetano in Crevillent (Alicante) caused – between 1770 and 1826– a great deal of conflicts and lawsuits, which taking its origin from local problems, provoked a hard confrontation between the Bishop’s Court of Orihuela and the Royal Court (Audiencia) of Valencia, and eventually was resolved by the Council of Castile. Furthermore, these voluminous documents brings us a wide range of information, notably about the relationship between such conflicts and climatic factors.
