Resumen

Through this study we sought to determine the level of emotional competence of students of a primary education, with the aim of designing a program to respond to the needs identified in emotional education of students of the center. This is a public school located in an urban setting in the city of Alicante. Emotional competence was assessed both by the teacher and by the student and a fellow of it. From the data obtained in the initial evaluation, a program based on the identified shortcomings was designed. a) experimental b) control two groups were selected. Then the program by teachers belonging to the experimental group was implemented. The sample of participating students was a total of 135 students from the three cycles of primary education. The sessions were held for one hour a week tutoring, with a total duration of 20 weeks, using a playful, active and participative methodology. They were then analyzed and evaluated the effects of the program depending on the initial level of emotional competence of students. The assessment was conducted by the teacher, the students themselves and a companion again. The most significant differences are in the assessment by the teacher. Moreover it was evaluated the degree of satisfaction of participants with the program, both the teachers and the students participants, obtaining very positive results within this assessment.
