Abstract

One of the most effective ways that universities have to improve their institutional relationships at national and international level is to cooperate with other centers in research and education. This is the main target of the Intercontinental Doctoral School PUCP-UVa. That is an activity organized by the research group ECSING, from the Valladolid University, joint with other universities and centers from Brazil (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte), Peru (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Lima) and Mexico (Universidad Autónoma de México, México DF, Instituto de Matemáticas de Cuernavaca). In this paper we present the structure of this activity as well as its main objectives. We will follow its evolution from its origin at 2009 and also consider its future challenges. Finally, we will analyze its impact to conclude that this school represents a very important cooperative experience.
