Resumen

Evaluation is an essentially critical factor in the quality of university education, even more so if it is to evaluate the clinical competences in nursing students in hospital contexts. Quantitative research whose objective was to validate a rubric for the evaluation of clinical competences in nursing students. The rubric was applied to 55 first year students in different locations, and with two different groups of clinical supervisors in a public University in Chile. We obtained a rubric with content validity of V. de Aiken 0.88, Alpha de Cronbach 0.8, Intraclass Correlation Coefficient 0.811.. Scores between clinical supervisors and students at both sites do not show statistically significant differences, p-value> 0.05. Significant difference was shown when applying the rubric in the middle of the period and at the end. It is concluded that this instrument identified an increase in learning after a formative evaluation.
