Abstract

On June 9, 2021, the exhibition Valencians at war! 1808-1814.It is in this context that the three didactic units that occupy this review arise since they involve the didactic transposition of the content of the exhibition into the classrooms. The author of the didactic units presents three training units for each of the school moments in which the content of "The War of Independence" would have a place in the curriculum: 6th year of Primary Education, where the Contemporary Age and the History of Spain; 4th of Secondary Education (ESO) where the political and social processes resulting from the French Revolution are studied, as well as 2nd of Baccalaureate where in the subject of History of Spain, the content of the War of Independence, the Cortes of Cádiz and the Constitution of 1812.Thus, as a conclusion, it is worth highlighting in this didactic material the use of active learning methodologies, the use and management of sources and evidence, cooperative work, the inclusion of "invisible" topics, as well as the concern to develop the competences of historical thinking on the part of the students and inquiry as an appropriate way for an applied learning of history in class.
